    Bobbie Becerra

Sparking change through open discussion & personal connection

Author of the memoir, Learning to Take It: How I Grew to Accept Abuse, Bobbie is a powerful and inspirational public speaker with the goal of contributing to the discussion of child abuse and domestic violence on a national level. Bobbie speaks with an uncommon balance of critical objectivity and compassion as she shares her unique insights and lessons from her experience. Bobbie hopes to give a voice to other survivors as well as provide content for those wanting to expand their understanding but have not had personal experience with abuse.

Bobbie is a certified domestic violence victims advocate and is trained in human trafficking awareness. She is a member of the RAINN National Speakers Bureau and a volunteer with The Orphaned Earring.

Bobbie is also an active part of the storytelling community in her hometown of Los Angeles. Check out Bobbie's Storytelling page for details.

    A Passionate and Inspiring Speaker

"Ms. Becerra spoke about her experiences as a survivor of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, with both grace and kindness. Students related to Ms. Becerra's gentle manner. Several students explored her comments further and wanted to understand her healing journey. I look forward to working with her again in our efforts to increase awareness around sexual violence."

"Bobbie Becerra goes beyond teaching others about healing from experiences of domestic and sexual abuse. Her motivational talks pave paths for the uncomfortable discussions that teach audiences lessons beyond surviving. She is a passionate, impactful, and motivational speaker who has dedicated her life to provoking much needed discussion in efforts to break secrecy. Working with Bobbie Becerra is an important step toward spreading awareness and I look forward in continuing this important work."

"Having Bobbie as part of our organization has been a true blessing. Her love, dedication and healing message has proved to be crucial as we work with girls that have been neglected not only by their parents, but also society. Bobbie's love towards our youth has been consistent, strong and fun, we love having her smile at our youth events. Looking forward to working with her in years to come!"
